Donation of Menstrual Hygiene Products to Segerea Prison

As one of its Key Objectives in support of Prisons and Prisoner's welfare, UTU Kwanza collaborated with two other organizations ( For the Menstruator and Helping Hands) is here today reaching out to Segerea Prison after recognizing the use of menstrual hygiene products and machines to donate 300 menstrual hygiene sanitary packages and one Sewing Machine.

These Sanitary Packages are reusable and can last up to three (3) good years. Each package contains three washable fabrics, two fabric pad inserts, a bar of soap, one underwear and a waterproof bag.

Furthermore, with the support of Helping Hands, the donation of the sewing machine will assist women in Prison to sew their clothes and develop their sewing skills leave alone the production of commodities for sale at Prison's Shops located in each Prison in Tanzania.

The organization plans to continue assisting Prisons in Tanzania in order to promote human dignity by enhancing the quality of life of Prisoners as well as legal aid services to most of them who can not afford to pay for the services such as juveniles and some of the women in our Prisons.
